Why Is there This need.

Most care homes do not attach much weight to this reporting. They talk the talk,

when they should, Walk the Walk.

Even if they do think it important they do not make the best use of the information.

Person centered care is vital. We need to promote dignity and quality of life by maximising

Independence and providing opportunities for pleasure and enjoyment.

History of project

I work in two care homes in a variety of rolls. I cook, clean and also act as a relief Activity Coordinator so I have a rounded grasp of all areas of working in a care home environment. I was shocked at the time spent filling out paperwork and decided to do something about it.

Several previous incantations of this project have been tried before. I started to build it on freely available software from sources such as Teachers markbook sites. Unfortunately none of them gave me the flexibility I was looking for. I needed to be able to translate the raw data into meaningful information. This is so important for the people in our care. It cannot be stated enough that knowing a residents history is paramount. Without that information at your fingertips you are fishing in the dark.
